The UK tax authority plans to cut its central London office space by 25% and reduce some paper communications, as part of wider measures to reduce administrative burden and simplify the tax system.
His Majesty’s Revenue & Customs’ reduction in desk space at the Parliament Street office will be completed by next month, a government official briefed on the matter said, requesting anonymity. HMRC also operates in two other London offices, one in Croydon and another in Stratford.
No offices will close as part of the plans, the official confirmed.
